We shoot UK wide with no travel fees, which means we get asked this a lot: "does it matter where we get married?" Honestly — not to us, and it probably shouldn't matter to you either, at least not for the reasons couples usually assume.
A lot of couples quietly rule out a venue they love because it's "too far" from their photographer, worried about a big call-out charge tacked onto the invoice. That's a real cost with some photographers, and a real shame, because it means people end up compromising on the venue itself — the thing that actually shapes the whole day — to save money on logistics. We built our pricing so that's never a factor. Clearwell Castle in Gloucestershire, Haworth in West Yorkshire, a city hall in Bristol, a hotel in Yarm — we've shot all of them, and the invoice looks the same regardless.
Instead of worrying about distance, we'd suggest asking the venue about the things that actually affect your photos and film: what time does the light come into the main room, is there anywhere outdoors for portraits if the weather holds, how strict are they about drone use if that's something you want, and what's the actual noise curfew for the evening. Those answers shape your day far more than how many miles it is from your photographer's front door.
It means exactly what it says — Yorkshire, the Cotswolds, the coast, a barn three hours south, all the same. We'll turn up the night before if the drive is a long one, and we'll never let logistics become your problem on the day. Book the venue you actually love. We'll sort out getting there.
